Vegetable tanning outlasted many centuries , until the middle
of the 19th century , the chemical industry , the tanning trade revolutionized .
Much of the processed leather is produced today under ecologically and morally questionable conditions , because in the conventional chrome tanning fall of many polluting substances, for which there are only limited " sustainable " solutions . The poisoning case runs through the entire cycle of the material and affects much more than just the production conditions , waste and contaminated by heavy metals wastewater .

Our vegetable tanned leather is produced in a complex process using well-proven , natural additives , such as bark wood of chestnut. HOLZRICHTER abandons any use of Chromium , checks the waiver forbidden dressing substances such as azo dyes , PCP or DMF and ensures compliance with stringent European environmental directives . Continually developing environmentally and socially responsible framework is based here on a number of defined policies :
